While it is still a form of BHO, the main differences between shatter and resin are the flavor profiles, quality of the terpenes (the unique aromatic oils secreted by the cannabis), texture, and consistency of the final product. For these noteworthy differences to occur, the curing methods most definitely are scrutinized before it’s put through the extraction process.
Resin is produced using only fresh, flash-frozen flowers and sugar leaves taken from the plant with precise timing before they’ve had a chance to cure and dry. No moisture is lost before the extraction begins. Compare this process to most other forms of cannabis concentrates like wax or shatter. Those flowers have simply passed through the normal drying and curing process. Resin requires skill. Therefore, it’s more of an exact science!
Hint: To open lid, use a bottle opener. If sealed tight, warm water also does the trick!
